In the main story, a little dwarf uses a magical spinning wheel to turn straw into gold, and when the miller's daughter agrees to marry him in exchange for his help, he demands her firstborn child as payment; when she objects, he agrees to give her three days to guess his name to avoid the bargain. In a secondary story titled "Prince Pinky," the prince is captured by Sir Oswald and imprisoned in a castle tower, but outwits his captors and escapes by claiming to be taking a message to the king, ultimately planning to return with a bulldozer to breach the tower walls.
