This Quality Comics charmer from November 1950 packs a perfectly timed punchline right on the cover: Marmaduke Mouse suggests that King Louie — a crown-wearing, tearful lion in overalls clutching a "Fido" dog collar — advertise in the newspaper for his lost dog, only for King Louie to shoot back that it won't do any good because the dog can't read.
