Loveless #17

Vertigo's Loveless #17 brings Brian Azzarello and Werther Dell'Edera's post-Civil War western back with part two of "Blackwater Falls," and Marcelo Frusin's cover sets the mood beautifully. A skull-faced figure wearing a sheriff's badge looms large under a full moon, revolver aimed directly at the reader, while a smiling woman with her own gun lingers just over his shoulder — and a dark bird cuts silhouetted across the lunar glow above them. It's a moody, atmospheric image that captures everything unsettling and compelling about this Vertigo series.
