“Station To Station”

"Station To Station" introduces Odiko, a mysterious visitor from a space vehicle, in a standout 1981 issue of Little Archie. Written and drawn by Bob Bolling, with inks, colors, and letters by the same hand, the story follows the Good Ol' Gang’s mixed reactions to Odiko’s superhuman speed and unsettling lack of reflection—only Chuck stands by him. The cover by Dexter Taylor captures the moment of tension as Odiko flees into the swamp, setting up a quiet, heartfelt moment between him and Little Archie, who offers a gum ball as a gesture of friendship.

After a space vehicle lands on Earth for repairs, a young boy, Odiko, wanders away into Riverdale, where the Good Ol' Gang notices his superhuman speed and asks him to join their baseball team. But most of the gang turns against Odiko when they discover that he has no reflection, although Chuck defends him, arguing that he's a nice kid even if he is different. When Odiko runs away from the angry gang, Little Archie manages to beat him to the Hockomock Swamp and he apologizes to Odiko for the way the gang treated him and gives him a gum ball as a souvenir of Earth.
