This is an anthology issue containing at least two stories. "Wagonwheels" is a humorous safety tale in which a group of children debate whether a safety pin or wagon wheel is the greatest invention, with adults arguing that the wheel could never have progressed without the safety pin. "Mountain March" is a dramatic narrative about Don Alessandro, a Spanish-Mexican rancher in California, whose son Ferdinando must help rescue Senor Boardman's daughter Janice and her family, who are trapped on the other side of the mountains in a snowstorm with their wagon train. A third story, "Lash La Rue Western," depicts Lash confronting henchmen at a general store over a stolen typewriter, with one of the criminals attempting to use it for shooting practice before Lash intervenes with his trademark whip.
