Cover pencils by Kevin Maguire and inks by Al Gordon give this fifth issue of DC's 1989 sci-fi series a dynamic, slightly unhinged energy that perfectly captures the odd-couple tension at the heart of L.E.G.I.O.N. '89. With the creative team of Giffen, Grant, Kitson, and McKenna on board, this is a fine chapter in one of DC's more entertainingly unpredictable cosmic titles.
