Who is Strata?

Strata is a rocky-skinned alien member of L.E.G.I.O.N., the interstellar law-enforcement organization led by the cunning Vril Dox II. Her immense stone-like physiology makes her a formidable presence among the team's eclectic roster of cosmic operatives.

Born from the creative partnership of Roger Stern and the legendary Curt Swan, Strata made her debut in Action Comics Weekly #637 in 1989, arriving at the dawn of a bold new era for DC's cosmic corners. She quickly found her home in the pages of L.E.G.I.O.N., rubbing shoulders with a gloriously eccentric cast that includes Vril Dox II, Lobo, Stealth, and Lyrissa Mallor β€” some of the most compelling and dangerous figures in DC's outer-space mythology. With a sixteen-year publishing span, two key-issue appearances to her name, and a presence woven through the L.E.G.I.O.N. titles from their earliest days, Strata is exactly the kind of deep-cut Copper Age gem that rewards the curious collector who ventures beyond Earth's atmosphere.
