“Showdown In Cheyenne!”

The cover by John Severin puts Kid Colt right in the thick of a tense saloon poker game, leaning hard across the table while cards, chips, and at least one hidden pistol lie scattered before him and the suspicious-looking gamblers flanking him. That tagline — "The Kid has to find out if any man is: 'Beyond the Law!'" — sets up a frontier showdown that feels genuinely charged with mistrust and danger. Atlas Comics' 1956 western lineup doesn't get much more gripping than this.
