The cover of issue #26 says it all — the Justice League Europe team is absolutely swarming with bizarre, toothy alien creatures sporting unsettling red eyes, with recognizable figures including the Flash, a white-costumed hero, and a blonde-haired teammate barely visible beneath the writhing horde. Bart Sears delivers a wonderfully chaotic image that makes "Stars in Your Eyes" feel like a thrillingly strange encounter with something very much not of this Earth. Written by Keith Giffen and Gerard Jones, this May 1991 entry in DC's beloved ensemble title promises the sharp wit and wild imagination the series was known for delivering month after month.
