“Out of This World”

From the cover by Nate Butler and Rex W. Lindsey, Jughead is mid-chomp on a massive burger outside Pop's Chocklit Shoppe while a pair of wide-eyed alien visitors panic — one crying "Gazooks!! We must leave this planet immediately!" and the other gasping "Oorg! They eat spaceships!" — as flying saucers buzz the neighborhood and tiny robot-suited extraterrestrials scramble in every direction. Faces of Archie and the gang peer in from the corner, apparently baffled by the whole interplanetary commotion. This October 1987 issue, part of Archie's 45th anniversary celebration, promises exactly the kind of cheerfully absurd sci-fi comedy that makes "Out of This World" an irresistible title.
