Jughead #3
Right at the height of the home-computer craze, this 1987 Archie Series issue captures the moment perfectly: Archie leans over Jughead's shoulder, wide-eyed and chattering about people going "goofy" over computers, while on the monitor screen a wild, purple-helmeted, grinning figure seems to leap out of the display. The cover — penciled by Nate Butler and inked by Rex Lindsey — pairs that everyday suburban tech enthusiasm with just a hint of something delightfully unhinged lurking inside the machine. With the interior story "The Nightmare Zone" waiting inside, this issue is a fun little time capsule of mid-'80s Riverdale charm.
