“Legacy”

"Legacy" kicks off JSA: All Stars #1 with a high-stakes ambush as Sand escorts the Icicle to prison—only for the Injustice Society to strike, quickly overwhelmed by the full force of the Justice Society. Written by David Goyer and Geoff Johns, with art by Sal Velluto and inks by Bob Almond, the issue plunges the team into a psychological trap when their new enemy, Legacy, captures the original JSA members and forces them to confront their pasts. The twist comes when the Spectre arrives to warn them, only to reveal himself as Legacy in a chilling double-cross, leaving both the heroes and the real Spectre in peril. Cover by John Cassaday and Mark Lewis.

While Sand is transporting the Icicle to prison, the Injustice Society attacks, but the villains soon face the entire JSA. Under orders from their mysterious new leader Legacy, the villains abduct the four remaining original JSA members. Later, when the remaining JSAers gather, they are surprised by a visit from the Spectre who warns them that Legacy can exploit their emotional weaknesses and that all of them need to make peace with their pasts. But when the Spectre leaves, it is revealed that he is really Legacy and that he holds not only the veteran JSAers captive, but also the real Spectre.
