JSA #44
Three JSA members — their colorful costumes barely visible beneath the wrappings — are bound head-to-toe in mummy bandages, entombed within what appears to be an ornate sarcophagus. It's a striking, unsettling image from cover artist Rags Morales that sets an ancient-Egyptian tone perfectly matched by the story title "The Tears of Ra." Writers David Goyer and Geoff Johns, with artist Leonard Kirk and inker Keith Champagne, bring the JSA's "B.C." arc to this eerie 2003 chapter that suggests the team is in very deep trouble indeed.
