Journey into Mystery #40
In "I Saw a Demon!", a skeptical reporter sets out to debunk a hypnotist’s spirit-channeling act—only to find himself mysteriously transported 500 years into the future, trapped in the body of a man still performing the same illusion. As the cycle repeats and his sense of self begins to unravel, the line between performer and audience blurs in a mind-bending tale of identity and perception. Written and illustrated by John Forte, with a striking cover by Bill Everett, this 1956 classic from Journey into Mystery delivers a haunting, time-twisting mystery that lingers long after the final page.
