Journey into Mystery #28
In "They Wouldn't Believe Him!", a reluctant suitor is pressured into a political marriage to prevent war, but finds the chosen bride unappealing—until a sorcerer's apprentice attempts to transform her with magic. Despite the court's efforts, only the apprentice's spell succeeds, leading to a union that doesn't prevent the conflict they sought to avoid. Paul Reinman handles both pencils and inks for the interior art, while Carl Burgos delivers the cover.

In order to avoid a costly war, a marriage is suggested between two rival factions, but the man finds the girl homely and is not interested. Many of the king's court ply their skills at making her beautiful but none succeed until the sorcerer's apprentice is given leave to try his magic. The war still occurs, however, as the girl marries the apprentice.
