Bryan Hitch and Paul Neary deliver a striking cover for this 2001 opener to the four-part "Terror Incognita" arc — Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Plastic Man, and at least one other League member tumble helplessly against a chilling blue backdrop crowded with disembodied, watchful eyes. Subtitled "The Watchers," the image sets an immediately unsettling tone, with Earth's greatest heroes seemingly overwhelmed by some vast, unseen presence. Mark Waid scripts the adventure, with Hitch's cinematic pencils backed by Paul Neary's inks making this a visually compelling start to what promises to be a seriously ambitious story.
