Invincible Iron Man #6

Iron Man charges fist-first against a dark, battle-worn armored opponent in the foreground, while three additional Iron Man suits loom ominously through a blazing wall of fire in the background — a striking image of Tony Stark surrounded and outnumbered by his own technology turned threat. Salvador Larroca's linework gives the confrontation real kinetic weight, and Frank D'Armata's fiery palette bathes the whole scene in urgent, molten tension. Part six of "The Five Nightmares" arc, this 2008 issue from Matt Fraction and Larroca looks to be delivering on the promise of a story where Iron Man's greatest vulnerabilities may be the very innovations he created.
