Impulse #42

This 1998 DC gem puts Bart Allen front and center in a genuinely unsettling predicament — a green, claw-like creature has latched onto his face while he holds what appears to be a small electronic device, seemingly the source of all his trouble. The cover title "Virtual Pest!" says it all, and Craig Rousseau and Wayne Faucher render the scene with a great mix of horror and comedy that suits Impulse's irreverent tone perfectly. With William Messner-Loebs scripting "Virtual Pets, Virtual Heck," this issue looks like a wild ride through whatever chaos a digital creature can unleash on DC's fastest teenager.
