Impulse #2

The cover of Impulse #2 (1995) captures DC's speedster in full stride — red-and-white costume crackling with golden lightning bolts as he bursts through shattering rock and billowing smoke in a scene that perfectly suits the story title "Crossfire." Humberto Ramos and Wayne Faucher's cover art gives the young hero a wonderfully kinetic, almost cartoon energy, his wild hair and wide-eyed expression radiating the reckless enthusiasm the character is known for. Mark Waid continues his run here, and if the explosive cover is any indication, issue two of this series isn't slowing down one bit.
