Nick Cardy's cover art delivers a genuinely unsettling image: a ragged, decaying creature lurches forward beneath a full moon, its grotesque clawed hands outstretched and its hollow eyes fixed on the viewer, while shadowy figures lurk in the darkness behind it. Inside, Gerard Conway and Tony DeZuniga bring their talents to "A Watchtower in the Dark," making this a solid showcase of early-'70s DC horror at its most atmospheric.
