Old Herschel Fleischmann regains his memory and recalls that he used to be called Scooter Jones and then Z-Man, a member of the Paxis, from long ago. He sets himself a mission to help out Trip, who's been arrested, but they are in turn attacked by a resurrected Inextremis, an old foe of Z-Man and the Paxis.
