Who is Z-Man?
Bursting onto the scene in 1993 courtesy of creators Frank Lovece and Anthony Williams, Z-Man is a Copper/Modern Age Marvel creation who debuted in Hokum & Hex #4 and went on to surface in Hyperkind — a corner of the Marvel universe that reveled in the boundary-pushing energy of early-'90s comics. With only a handful of catalog appearances across a short-lived but distinctive publishing window, Z-Man is the kind of rare find that makes digging through back-issue bins genuinely rewarding, sharing pages with the likes of Tempest, Wilda MacPherson, and John Doore. A true artifact of an adventurous, experimental moment in Marvel history — brief, intriguing, and well worth tracking down.
