About this Collection

This 2006 collection reprints the twelve-issue Heroes Reborn: Fantastic Four series, which was part of Marvel's broader Heroes Reborn event. The story reimagines the Fantastic Four's origin and early adventures in a pocket universe created by Franklin Richards, with the team facing familiar foes like Doctor Doom while interacting with other displaced Marvel heroes such as Captain America, Iron Man, and the Hulk. Written by Mark Waid and drawn by various artists, this volume presents a self-contained take on the classic characters, including Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm.

In "Renaissance," the Fantastic Four join forces with the Inhumans to confront Maximus and his transformed Subterraneans, caught in the chaotic aftermath of the Terrigen Mists. As Maximus takes Crystal to a mysterious creation device with dark intentions, the heroes must act fast—only to face the uncertain consequences of her ordeal. With the battle won and the Inhumans hosting a celebration, Johnny says his goodbyes to Crystal while Lockjaw ushers the team home, all as Dr. Doom receives a cryptic message from his future self in Latveria. Written by Brandon Choi and Jim Lee, with dynamic art by Ron Lim and inks by Richard Bennett, Mike S. Miller, and Homage Studios, the issue features a striking cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams.
