“...Freezes Over, Part One of Four”

A brooding, snow-flecked atmosphere sets the tone for "…Freezes Over," the opening chapter of a four-part arc from Brian Azzarello and Marcelo Frusin. Tim Bradstreet's cover places a trenchcoat-clad Constantine front and center — cigarette in hand, expression unreadable — while a triptych of inset panels beside him hints at a woman, a dark animal, and a weathered older man caught up in whatever trouble is coming. The car interior visible at the top, spattered with what looks like blood against a wintry backdrop, makes clear that John Constantine's 2001 is already off to a grim start.
