Green Wake #7

Riley Rossmo's haunting cover for Green Wake #7 sets a deeply unsettling tone, depicting a gaunt, hollow-eyed man in a fedora looming over a row of ghostly white child-like figures streaked with blood, while a shadowy figure stands near a gallows in the murky background. The image carries the weight of grief and dread that has defined this Shadowline/Image series, and the "Lost Children Pt. 2" story title only deepens the sense of something terribly wrong at the heart of Green Wake. Kurtis Wiebe and Riley Rossmo continue to craft one of 2011's most atmospheric horror comics, and this issue looks to push that darkness further still.
