Green Lantern #4
In "Total War! Chapter I: Foemen in the Fog," Green Lantern faces a dangerous deception as he infiltrates enemy ranks by posing as a Nazi spy—only for his sidekick Doiby to accidentally impersonate the same agent, exposing the Emerald Crusader’s secrets to Captain Kortz. Written by Bill Finger and illustrated by Marty Nodell, this 1942 issue blends wartime intrigue with the early days of superhero espionage, all captured in a striking cover by Irwin Hasen.
In "Total War! Chapter I: Foemen in the Fog," Alan Scott, Doiby, and Irene find themselves caught in a deadly trap when a strange shipwreck leads to a surprise raid by a Gestapo unit commanded by Captain Kortz. With the fate of the coast hanging in the balance, Green Lantern rises to the challenge, unleashing his power to thwart a full-scale aerial assault before it can reach the mainland.
In "The Den of Doom!", Alan Scott must go undercover as a Nazi spy to uncover Fifth Columnist operations, but when Doiby Dickles accidentally impersonates him, the Emerald Crusader finds himself in a dangerous game of deception—just as Captain Kortz begins to close in.
In "Green Lantern Enlists!!", Alan and Doiby rejoin the U.S. Army, only to face a new threat when Doiby is poisoned by Gestapo agents—just as Green Lantern arrives to save him at the last moment. With Irene kidnapped by Kortz and the Master of Light on the hunt, the hero must race to untangle the web of danger before it's too late.
