Part one of the "Evil Star Rising!" trilogy kicks off with a cover that means business: Hal Jordan surges upward with ring raised and jaw set, while a frightened woman is trapped inside a green energy sphere behind him — and an overwhelming horde of star-helmeted Starlings surges up from below, grasping hands reaching toward him from every direction. M. D. Bright and Romeo Tanghal pack the composition with genuine tension, the sheer number of swarming attackers making it clear Hal is badly outnumbered. Gerard Jones's "No More Mister Nice Guy!" tagline hints that 1992's Green Lantern is done playing it safe.
