Taupin is a slave on an alien spaceship that is attacked, and all but he are killed. He comes to Earth, attacks Green Lantern and recruits new, unknowing, slaves for himself, among them Dinah Lance. Green Arrow stows away in Taupin's ship to rescue her, but is captured, as Green Lantern blunders into a time-null warp.
