“The Return of Roy Harper, Part 1 The Black Artery”
About this Collection

This volume collects issues #16-20 of the 2016 Green Arrow Rebirth series, as well as the Green Arrow: Rebirth one-shot. In this arc, Oliver Queen and Black Canary face off against the Ninth Circle, a secret society of bankers and financiers, while also dealing with the aftermath of the 'Hard-Traveling Hero' storyline and the rise of a new villainous threat in Star City.

In "The Return of Roy Harper, Part 1: The Black Artery," Green Arrow faces a city transformed—Star City, a glittering metropolis reborn under the shadow of corporate power and hidden agendas. Written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Otto Schmidt, this pivotal issue sees Ollie grappling with his public arrest and a fractured cityscape, as he joins forces with Black Canary to confront the Underground Men while uncovering the deeper machinations of the Ninth Circle. The cover by Juan Ferreyra captures the tension of a hero returning to a world that no longer recognizes him.

Revealing to the public that he is alive, Ollie is arrested and charged with the murder of his secretary. In the aftermath of the recent destruction, Mayor Domini re-names Seattle as Star City, a city that is privately financed by Queen Industries and Cyrus Broderick. The city caters to the wealthy while the poor are evicted from their homes. Ollie joins Black Canary to battle the Underground Men who are abducting the newly homeless, while Henry learns of the Ninth Circle's master plan. Ollie leaves Star City to pursue a plan to victory, and the leader of the Ninth Circle is revealed.
