The Veiled Avenger begins to smell a rat when a young lady passes away from so-called anemia. The president of a railroad nearly suffers the same fate as do many more patients being admitted to hospitals. The Avenger takes on an alias to see if she can get the criminals involved in the scheme to take the bait. They do and she discovers that the crooks are affecting the health of only very rich patrons in order to take their money."
