One story features a western narrative in which Midas and White Mask, fugitives, make camp on a lonely ridge; the tale culminates with the revelation that Midas has robbed the National Prairie Bank and the characters planning their next move. Another story, "Lucky Bill," follows the eponymous character as he becomes involved with a dangerous criminal organization; Lucky Bill is tasked by the chief to back up his daughter, who is covering Mrs. Van Nayames's party, and the plot involves schemes related to extortion and murder, with Lucky ultimately confronting the villains and foiling their plans.
Lucky Coyne, the world's star reporter, discovers that his colleague Janie Barnes has been framed for the murder of Eddie Chance—evidence planted by the ruthless criminals Rocco Vendetta and Bowlegs Roscoe, who killed Chance to cover a gambling debt scheme. Racing against the police and his own conscience, Lucky must break every rule in the book to prove Janie's innocence and expose the real killers before the law closes in on an innocent girl.
