In "Retour au bercail," Grunge and Freefall are rescued by rebels and reunited with Rainmaker and Burnout, who’ve returned from a future thirty years ahead. As the Drahn launch their final assault on Earth, Lynch reveals a devastating answer to the alien threat—a cellular enzyme that kills the Drahn but also all humans—while Fairchild is left behind. Just as the rebels arrive to save him, the fate of Earth hangs in the balance. Back in the present, Lynch, Rainmaker, and Burnout return to New York, only to face relentless pursuit by the I.O. The story is written by Brandon Choi and Adeline Evens, with art by Al Rio and colors by Joe Chiodo and Wildstorm FX, and features a cover by Al Rio.
