As the Joe team is freeing Snake-Eyes from the Commander's trap, a call is made to Joe in New York to fire a laser to stop the Cobra forces in hot pursuit, which succeeds. In Borovia, Zartan, disguised as Wolfgang, plants a bomb killing President Metz, setting up Wolfgang as that country's liberator.
