G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #148
In "Irresistible Forces," the G.I. Joe team and the Oktober Guard race against time as Cobra Commander advances into Wolkekuckuckland, forcing a retreat from General Leiderkranz’s forces. Meanwhile, the space teams—having stopped an asteroid threat with a last-minute self-destruct from a former Soviet scientist—now face a perilous reentry, struggling to survive in a damaged Russian shuttle cobbled together from the wreckage of the Defiant. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Phil Gosier, with inks by Crusher Wallace and Scott Koblish, and a cover by Phil Gosier and Randy Emberlin, this 1994 Marvel issue delivers high-stakes action across both Earth and orbit.

As Cobra Commander fully presses on into Wolkekuckuckland, forcing General Leiderkranz's forces to retreat, the Joes/Oktober Guard space teams succeed in stopping the asteroid from crashing into Earth, as it's blown apart by a self-destruct code from the former Soviet mad scientist. However, the space teams aren't out of the woods yet as they attempt to reenter Earth using a damaged Russian shuttle fixed with parts from the dismantled Joes' shuttle, the Defiant.
