G.I. Joe #22
Looming over a lone figure in a dark suit — who stands protectively before a group of frightened young people — is a massive, terrifying serpentine creature with enormous fangs and coiling scales that fill the entire background. It's a striking composition from Image's 2003 run of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, with cover art by Michael Turner that sells the dread of "The Last Stand Part One" without saying a word. Josh Blaylock and Brandon Badeaux are behind the interior pages, making this an issue with real creative firepower on both sides of the cover.
