Presented by Schiff's Shoes, this 1960 Charlton gem finds Freddy and a pal lurking outside the Bijou Theatre — dressed as a mummy and Frankenstein's monster — plotting to scare a terrified young couple who just staggered out of an "All Shock" double feature. Jon D'Agostino's cover art nails the slapstick tension perfectly, with speech bubbles flying and the girl calmly insisting, "Oh, Freddy, it was only a movie!" Rounding out the cover are charming circular vignettes spotlighting the book's rotating cast of characters — Black Fury, Six Gun Heroes, Timmy the Timid Ghost, Li'l Genius, and the Masked Raider — making this a genuinely fun anthology package for a dime.
