The cover sets a perfectly cheerful tone: the rotund, red-capped Herby saws away at a wooden doghouse while a grinning white dog peeks out from inside — completely unfazed — and a baffled Smitty looks on from the background, hand to his head in exasperation. It's a snapshot of the easygoing, good-natured humor that made these characters such a comfortable fit for Dell's family-friendly lineup.
