“Bird Brains”

In "Bird Brains," the whimsical world of Banana takes a comedic turn when President Paprika, in a desperate bid to save her nation, sends a stork-delivered plea for help to The Captain. With Hans and Fritz by his side, The Captain sails to the island only to discover Paprika’s financial downfall stems from an absurdly expensive stamp collection bought from the greedy General Tabasco, who now threatens to seize control unless she can produce 2,000 pazasters. Written by Jack Mendelsohn and illustrated by John Dirks, this 1958 Four Color adventure blends satire and slapstick with a delightfully offbeat premise, all framed by Rudolph Dirks’ distinctive cover art.
