Dell's "Movie Classic" line brought plenty of Westerns to the spinner rack, and this 1957 adaptation of The Big Land is a handsome example of the format. The cover presents a rugged cowboy in a white shirt, green vest, and red neckerchief, mounted on horseback with a holstered sidearm at his hip — while behind him a dramatic cattle drive or stampede churns across the open plains, riders pressing the herd through a cloud of dust. Bob Jenney's cover art captures the wide-open spirit of a Jaguar Production Western at a crisp ten cents.
