In "The False Duckling," the Brownies stumble upon a mysterious egg that hatches into a duckling—only for the Wizard inside to break free, tricking the mother duck into thinking he’s her lost child. Now, with the real duckling still missing, the Brownies must track it down before the illusion unravels.

In "The Brownies and the Splooks," a group of curious Brownies ignore the Wizard’s warning and venture out on Halloween, only to stumble upon the reclusive Splooks—creatures who emerge from underground just once a year to frighten humans. When the Brownies fail to react with fear, the Splooks take them to meet their Grand Splook, leading to an awkward encounter that sends the Brownies scrambling back to the surface.

When a group of mischievous Brownies builds a tin can submarine and sets sail, they’re unexpectedly towed to Castaway Island—where they meet Jettison, a long-bearded Brownie said to have lived there for six hundred years. The island holds secrets, and with their tiny vessel stranded, the Brownies find themselves in a place far stranger than they ever imagined.
