Easy gains control of the boat from Dawson and dump the gold overboard in order to get away. The group is picked up by a ship and returns to the U.S. In the offices of McKee Industries, I.R. Splendix and his son, Rowden, plot to steal Carol away from Wash. I.R. sends Rowden to show Wash and Easy around McKee Industries, but Easy recognizes Rowden as the man who gave him amnesia. After Rowden recovers from the beating Easy gave him, he works to get Wash in trouble and steal Carol. Splendix gets Easy out of the way by having him promoted to assistant production manager of the hairpin department.
