In "null," a young boy named Wash, still on the run with his unreliable "father," finds temporary refuge on a houseboat. After drifting to the isolated farm of the man’s long-abandoned wife and son, unexpected connections stir, leading to a quiet moment of reconciliation. With the past briefly stirred, Wash sets off alone on the houseboat, only to be tracked down by Easy, who guides him back to the McKees.
