“The Warning Sign”

This 1959 Dell one-shot puts Goofy front and center — literally — as the lanky, red-shirted character stumbles forward in full comic chaos, having apparently sent Mickey Mouse tumbling to the ground while a young Goofy-like figure and another Disney pal look on with wide-eyed surprise near a windswept tree. Paul Murry's cover linework captures the slapstick energy perfectly, with Mickey's hat spinning off and scattered leaves adding to the delightful disorder. A charming ten-cent snapshot of Disney comics at their most cheerfully clumsy.
