“Moloid See, Moloid Do”

The FF's substitute team tumbles through a writhing, otherworldly purple landscape on Michael Allred's striking cover — a white-helmeted figure in red dominates the foreground while a red-suited woman with flowing auburn hair, a green-skinned young woman in a Fantastic Four uniform, and a rocky orange figure with a tiny passenger spiral helplessly in the background. Matt Fraction, Lee Allred, and Laura Allred bring their characteristically vivid, design-forward sensibility to this 2013 Marvel series, and the sheer visual energy of Allred's linework makes even freefall look stylish. If "Moloid See, Moloid Do" sounds like trouble brewing beneath the Future Foundation, this cover certainly sets a fittingly surreal tone.
