Fear Itself: The Fearless #8

Issue eight of twelve in this 2012 Marvel limited series keeps the tension high as writers Cullen Bunn, Matt Fraction, and Chris Yost push "The Sins of the Father..." toward its conclusion. Arthur Adams' cover assembles a menacing lineup — a red-masked figure in a military coat dominates the foreground alongside a skull-faced, heavily armed soldier, while a flame-crowned woman and a cluster of grotesque, supernatural creatures loom ominously behind them. With artists Mark Bagley and Paul Pelletier handling the interior pages, this penultimate stretch of Fear Itself: The Fearless promises exactly the kind of escalating dread its title delivers.
