“Monster Man!”
About this Collection

This fourth volume of the Essential Marvel Two-in-One series collects issues of the classic Marvel team-up title featuring Ben Grimm, the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing, as he partners with various heroes across the Marvel Universe. Highlights include confrontations with the cosmic-powered Sphinx and the enigmatic Anath-Na Mut, showcasing the Thing's enduring role as a cornerstone of Marvel's Bronze Age adventures. Presented in black-and-white on newsprint, this trade paperback gathers a substantial run of 1970s stories from the original comic series.

In "Monster Man!", Giant-Man faces a dire threat from radiation poisoning, pushing the Thing and Spider-Woman to confront Atom Smasher—the brother of the original—whose actions have led to this crisis. Written by Tom DeFalco and illustrated by Ron Wilson with inks by Chic Stone, this 2011 issue delivers a high-stakes battle of strength and science, with a pivotal twist that alters both Spider-Woman and Giant-Man forever. The cover, by Ron Wilson and Chic Stone, captures the intensity of the clash.
