Doom Patrol #1 [2004 Edition]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis first volume of Grant Morrison's acclaimed 1989-1993 Doom Patrol run collects the series' rebirth after a period of cancellation. The world's strangest heroes—including Robotman (Cliff Steele), the multiple-personality-powered Crazy Jane, Negative Man (Larry Trainor), and their wheelchair-bound leader Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief)—face bizarre, surreal threats that redefine the concept of a superhero team. Featuring the introduction of new member Joshua Clay and a cameo from Dr. Will Magnus, this collection sets the stage for the Patrol's journey into the truly weird.
In "Crawling from the Wreckage," Cliff and Jane arrive at Doom Patrol headquarters in Kansas City, only to discover it overrun by Orqwith and the Scissormen—forcing them to flee to Rhode Island, where they soon realize the threat has followed. Grant Morrison and Richard Case deliver a tense, grounded start to the series, with Brian Bolland’s striking cover capturing the eerie, fractured tone of the story.
