Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #37
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe Sorcerer Supreme faces a most unusual January 1992 showdown, as this Geof Isherwood cover delivers a wonderfully unsettling mashup: Dr. Strange is blasted backward through a shower of shattered rock while a silver-skinned surfer rides his board overhead — and looming ghostly green behind them both is the unmistakable hulking form of Frankenstein's monster. The cover tagline "Behold… Frankensurfer!" promises exactly the kind of wild, only-in-Marvel concept that Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, and R.J.M. L'Officier bring to the title. Isherwood's dynamic composition — Strange's crimson Cloak of Levitation billowing as debris flies — makes this one of the more inventively surreal chapters in the Sorcerer Supreme run.
