Who is Dreadknight?

Dreadknight is an armored Marvel villain who debuted as an Iron Man antagonist, clad in dark battle armor and wielding medieval-style weaponry — including a fearsome winged steed — to menace Tony Stark and other high-caliber heroes.

A sinister figure born in the Bronze Age Marvel universe, Dreadknight has been haunting the pages of Iron Man and Avengers since his 1977 debut — courtesy of the formidable creative team of Bill Mantlo and George Tuska. Across nearly five decades, this darkly armored villain has kept extraordinary company, crossing paths with Tony Stark, Captain America, and even Ororo Munroe, which tells you something about the caliber of hero it takes to contend with him. Though his catalog appearances are selective rather than sprawling, that relative scarcity only adds to his mystique as a cult favorite for Bronze Age completists who love their villains with genuine menace and old-school Marvel atmosphere.
