It follows the prehistoric adventures of a giant red Tyrannosaurus and his human companion Moon Boy as they battle strange creatures and villains in a savage jungle world.
In "Devil Dinosaur and Moon-Boy," the red Tyrannosaurus Rex known as Devil Dinosaur defends his Valley of Flame from the armored threat of Thunder-Horn, a Triceratops whose charge he stops with a decisive push off a cliff. As the dust settles, Moon Boy reflects on their bond—how he first found the young, flame-scarred beast abandoned and wounded, and how they’ve since become inseparable brothers in a world ruled by primal forces. But the Killer Folk, once a distant menace, now have a new leader, and their eyes are set on vengeance.
In "Devil's War!", Devil Dinosaur fights to survive when the Killer-Folk ambush him, setting fire to the jungle and burying him under boulders. With Moon Boy captured and sacrificed to the monstrous Long-Legs, Devil Dinosaur breaks free, rescues his friend, and turns the tide by igniting the cave’s surroundings—trapping the Killer-Folk and confronting their leader, Seven Scars.
In "Giant," young Ruka, a member of the towering "Big Ones," takes Moon Boy captive in the Valley, unaware his father—a colossal warrior crowned with the skull of a Triceratops—has arrived in a fury, leveling the land in search of his lost son. Devil Dinosaur confronts the giant, leading him into a treacherous bog, but when Moon Boy escapes and pleads for mercy, Devil must choose between victory and compassion.
In "Object from the Sky," a colossal spaceship crashes into the Valley of Flame, unleashing gold and blue humanoid robots with flamethrower arms that terrorize the land, capturing and killing dinosaurs and cavemen alike—including Moon Boy. When Stone-Hand and White-Hair, two gray-furred Hill-Folk, witness Devil Dinosaur battle one of the invaders, they intervene, forging an uneasy alliance with the mighty dinosaur. Together, the trio devises a plan to stand against the alien onslaught, their fate now entwined in the fight for survival.
In "Journey to the Center of the Ants!", Devil Dinosaur and his allies flee through a treacherous landscape, pursued by alien invaders and forced into the heart of a colossal ant colony known as the Tower of Death. As the giant Swarmers rise to defend their home, Devil must outwit a relentless enemy armed with a Land Crusher, turning the colony’s fury into his greatest weapon.
In "Eev!", Devil and his companions stumble upon Eev, a green-furred Forest-Folk woman, as she's attacked by two giant ants. With Stone Hand overpowered, Devil intervenes, dispatching the insects before the rest of the colony erupts in chaos, swarming the alien ship and tearing it apart. As the aliens and their craft are consumed in a massive explosion, Moon Boy and the captured cavemen escape, only to find a haunting new presence: a strange "Demon Tree" where the ship once stood.
In "Demon-Tree!", the ancient electronic mind of a fallen alien ship lures Stone-Hand, White-Hair, and Eev into a deceptive paradise, offering them safety and sustenance within a glowing force field. As tensions rise and White-Hair succumbs to a hidden danger, Stone-Hand’s desperation for freedom ignites a confrontation with the sentient tree. When Devil Dinosaur and Moon-Boy arrive, their united charge shatters the barrier—and the tree’s destruction unleashes a final, unexpected reckoning.
In "Dino-Riders," Moon Boy struggles to reconnect with the Small-Folk when the fierce Dino Riders—cavemen clad in reptile skins and riding dinosaurs—launch a brutal assault on Devil Dinosaur, aiming to break him and claim his mount. Led by the ruthless Gray-Tooth, the Riders push Devil to his limits until Moon Boy rallies the Small-Folk, using cunning traps to turn the tide. Now free, Devil Dinosaur sets his sights on Gray-Tooth, determined to end the threat once and for all.
In "The Witch and the Warp," Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy stumble upon the Hag, a mysterious guardian of the glowing Pits, where strange energies pulse beneath the earth. When Devil accidentally falls in, he’s hurled into Zuma City—a modern desert town—where he wreaks havoc before a desperate Moon Boy seeks help from the Hag and her son to bring him back. The story unfolds with a mix of primal wonder and unexpected displacement, as ancient magic collides with the unfamiliar.
